Eastern Bohemia Energy Community
The EWIC cluster is involved in the creation and development of the Eastern Bohemia Energy Community.
This step is based on a memorandum of cooperation concluded between the cluster, the Pardubice Region, and the city of Pardubice.
EWIC acted as the coordinator of the entire process of establishing the community and, at the same time, as the recipient of the grant support intended for its creation. EWIC acted as the coordinator of the entire process of

its creation. The plan was recommended by the regional energy commission and approved by the council of the
Pardubice Region and the city council of Pardubice. The ES VČ should be formally established by the end of September 2025.

 Shared energy in the community: 1,668.9 MWh/year
Key buildings in the Pardubice Region are connected to the ES VČ – hospitals in the cities of Pardubice
and Chrudim, the Regional Authority, Road Administration and Maintenance, a number of schools, and social services. The largest
consumers are Pardubice Hospital and Chrudim Hospital.
In the future, the ES will be open to further expansion of its membership base. In addition to existing
partners, the involvement of private entities – both natural persons and
legal entities – is expected. In this way, ES VČ will enable a wider range of people to reap the benefits of membership in the energy
community and support the development of community energy in the region.
