A delegation from Pardubice held talks in Bratislava on cybersecurity for critical infrastructure

On April 28–29, 2026, a delegation from the statutory city of Pardubice, led by Mayor Jan Nadrchal and Deputy Mayor René Živný, visited the ESET headquarters in Bratislava. The visit and expert discussions were facilitated by the Energy and Water Innovation Cluster, whose representatives were also part of the delegation along with representatives of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Pardubice Region.

The main topic of the working meeting was the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, particularly energy and water systems, which currently face ever-growing security threats. During the meeting, ESET representatives presented their portfolio of activities as well as current trends in the protection of the public sector’s digital infrastructure.

“Cybersecurity is a critical issue today for the functioning of cities, the energy sector, and water management. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss specific possibilities for cooperation and sharing experiences directly with ESET experts,” said Pardubice Mayor Jan Nadrchal.

During the meeting, the Energy and Water Innovation Cluster raised the topic of broader cooperation in the area of critical infrastructure protection and the involvement of expert partners in the development of modern security solutions for the public sector, the energy industry, and water management. The possibility of implementing joint projects focused on digitization and strengthening the cyber resilience of regional infrastructure was also discussed.

“Cooperation with technology leaders in the field of cybersecurity is an important step toward the secure development of modern infrastructure and smart solutions in our region,” added Deputy Mayor René Živný.

A significant outcome of the visit is the establishment of a joint Cybersecurity working group within the Energy and Water Innovation Cluster. This group will serve as a platform for sharing experiences, professional collaboration, and the preparation of further projects focused on the security and digitization of public services.
